A builder uses many different symbols to represent elements of a building and/or design. These symbols may start off being hand-drawn, like the examples below, but would be re-done as computer-generated images later when the draftsperson or architect prepares the plans.
This is a small selection of the symbols commonly used; for more examples you could refer to the Australian Standards that relate to drawing and drawing conventions.
