In your drawings and plans, you'll need to cross-reference certain items, such as components and assemblies, to schedules. In some situations, you'll also be required to cross-reference one or more drawings to another. Australian Standard 1100.301 specifies the conventions for cross-referencing, which are provided for you here.
Cross-referencing of components and assemblies to schedules should be indicated on drawings by the use of the schedule symbol. The upper segment of the symbol must contain an appropriate identification code for both the component and the assembly, and the lower segment must contain the sequential number for the particular item.
For example:
ID needs to provide the semantics of the dividing line
Door assembly |
Door sequence number for each block |
D |
01 |
Window assembly |
Window sequence number for each block |
W |
01 |
Structural assemblies such as columns, beams and slabs may also be cross-referenced to schedules in the following way.
Steel column assembly |
Steel column sequence number |
SC |
01 |
All schedules must clearly indicate the specific areas to which they apply; such as block number, floor level number etc.
