Site visit preparation

A builder needs to be fully prepared when heading out for a site visit.

Pat needs to ensure he has the site file containing any existing paperwork and any additional forms or documents he may need to complete at this visit. He will also need to consider occupational health and safety requirements so that he can make sure he has all the required tools and equipment, not only for measuring and inspecting the job but also for the safety of himself and any employees while on site.

OHS

On-site occupational health and safety is everyone's responsibility. Employers have a duty to ensure, as far as practicable, that employees are not exposed to hazards in the workplace. You should consult the Occupational Health and Safety Act or workplace safety authority in your state or territory to find out more.

Personal protective equipment (PPE)

You are responsible for ensuring you wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and clothing on site. You should carry all the necessary gear in your bag. Click the builder to find out more about PPE.
