Project documents

Site file

Any building project, no matter what size, will generate quite a bit of paperwork. Generally the bigger the job the more paperwork there will be, but even for a small project like the Rogers' it is essential to keep accurate records. A site file is the most common method builders use to keep important items such as design and discussion notes, approved documents and permits, contracts, variations and purchase orders organised.

Client brief

The client brief is the document that provides the basis for the initial client and builder discussion. Using this document to guide the conversation helps ensure that the builder obtains as much detail as possible about the project and what the client wants. The information gathered for the client brief will be translated into sketches and drawings as the project progresses. While it may be tailored to suit specific projects, a lot of the questions in the brief would be asked at the start of any job.

You're going to complete the client brief document for the Rogers' workshop project.
